The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the International Information Services Provider (EBSCO Information Services) signed a cooperation agreement to license and index Academic Iraqi Journals in EBSCO databases and provide Iraqi researchers access to selected databases of EBSCO.

This project is described to be one of the most important strategic projects adopted by the Research and Development Department of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq and under the patronage of its Minister  Prof. Dr Abdul Razzaq Al-Issa.

The cooperation agreement was signed by the Ministry Deputy for Scientific Research Affairs Prof. Dr Fouad Kasim Mohammad the representative of the EBSCO Information Services in Beirut, Lebanon to exchange databases of the Iraqi academic journals with selected ones provided by EBSCO. The signing ceremony took place at the Iraqi Embassy in Beirut in the presence of the Iraqi Ambassador Dr Ali Abbas Al Ameri and the Cultural Counselor at the Embassy Dr Suhail Najm Abdullah, also the Iraqi delegation included Dr Ameer Talib Hadi, the head of the governmental contract department, and Dr Yousif Khalaf Yousif, the super admin of IASJ Iraqi Academic Scientific Journal. This initial step benefiting Iraqi researchers at the universities and research centers will contribute to the advancement of the Iraqi academic journals website to achieve the knowledge society.
