College of Tourism, Al-Mustansiriyah University organized a workshop on plagiarism in the academic theses and dissertations. The workshop, in which a number of faculty members and postgraduates participated, reviewed academic plagiarism, various causes of plagiarism in scientific researches and the common types of fraud, as well as the reviewing penalties against plagiarism and reducing methods of plagiarism. The workshop highlighted correct methods of citation from references, how to distinguish between information that can be used without documentation and the information that the reference needs to be mentioned, how to reduce the percentages of plagiarism in the practical side and implementing of (Turnitin) software to highlight the percentage of plagiarism.
