Two faculty members in the College of Education for Pure Sciences-Ibn Al-Haitham, University of Baghdad, Dr. Juman Ahmed Nasir and Dr. Taqi Al-Deen Abed Al-hadi obtained a patent on preparing Nano-fibers for the polymeric component polymeric 2 - and aminophenol-formaldehyde / polystyrene to treat industrial wastewater. The patent, in which granted by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control Unit of the Ministry of Planning, reviewed producing Nano-polymeric fibers with superior properties for removing pigment contaminants from industrial wastewater, such as silica-gel, activate carbon and clays due to their relatively high surface area. The patent highlighted preparing polymeric component of polycarbonate-2-aminophenol-formaldehyde / polystyrene that was spun into Nano-fibers using the electro-spinning technique (Electrospinning Technique), under suitable spinning conditions that were determined by performing a number of practical experiments.
