College of Science, University of Basrah discussed a master dissertation on using of the Screen 3 View model to measure the impact of natural gas flaring on air pollution in Basrah Governorate by postgraduate student, Mrs. Maha Raad Kadhum.
The dissertation reviewed a study of the use of the Screen 3 View model in measuring gas emissions and demonstrating the impact of gas burning on human health as a result of the presence of high concentrations of pollutants emitted from burning, some of which exceeded the recommended exposure limit by eight times, and some gases were within the limits of the explosion.
The dissertation recommended the need to use carbon capture and storage technology "CCS" and the use of a device of scrubber and Bio-trickling filter to reduce gas emissions that reach the center of Basra Governorate.
