His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hasani inaugurated the Higher Institute for Artificial Intelligence at the University of Technology, as well as the Institute is dedicated to advancing scientific research in the field of artificial intelligence and promoting the application of its technologies across scientific, engineering, and developmental sectors.

Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Hasani highlighted the Institute’s specialized research role in transforming research findings into practical applications and technical solutions. 

Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Hasani emphasized its function in fostering integration across scientific and engineering disciplines, developing national talent, and training specialists in artificial intelligence technologies to meet the demands of the labor market.

His Excellency emphasized the necessity of bridging academic qualification with applied, specialized skills. 

Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Hasani stressed the importance of preparing graduates capable of working in technical fields and developing a national workforce equipped to meet the needs of various institutions, thereby helping to reduce unemployment and support sustainable economic development all while upholding the principle of free education and ensuring that students are not burdened with additional financial costs.

For his part, the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Hassanein Mohammed Hussein reviewed that the Institute serves as a pathway toward realizing the concept of a (productive university), this is achieved by leveraging knowledge, research, patents, innovations, and consulting services to transform academic outputs into projects with tangible economic and service-oriented value, as well as the Institute aims at diversifying funding sources and Strengthening collaboration with both the public and private sectors. 

Accompanied by the President of the University of Technology, His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Hasani toured the university’s laboratories, training centers, and specialized workshops. 

Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Hasani reviewed their equipment, technical capabilities, training and practical programs, as well as research activities across various scientific and specialized fields.
