His Excellency, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hasani approved the launch of the second edition of the National University Championship for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications (NURAI Iraq 2027).

The Deputy Minister for Scientific Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dhahad reviewed that the launch of this second edition aligns with the directives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aim to support technological innovation, develop the capabilities of students and researchers in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence, and broaden the scope of scientific competition among Iraqi universities.

Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dhahad added that the championship is being held under the theme (From Challenge to Solution… From Innovation to National Impact), the objective is to transition university projects from the stage of ideas and prototypes toward the delivery of practical technological solutions that address national challenges and meet the needs of various institutions and sectors.

The Deputy highlighted that this second edition seeks to expand collaboration between universities, government institutions, and private-sector companies to encourage student teams to develop innovative projects with practical viability and significant social and economic impact building upon the success, broad participation, and outstanding student projects seen in the first edition, as well as details regarding the championship, participation guidelines, and the various stages of the competition will be announced by the Ministry through its official channels and the championship’s dedicated website.
