Considering the directives of His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hasani, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Administrative Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Miqdam Mohammed Obeid Al-Jumaili visited the University of Diyala reviewed enhancing field monitoring of Iraqi universities, evaluating their academic and administrative status, and identify requirements for improving their institutional performance. 

Asst. Prof. Dr. Miqdam Mohammed Obeid Al-Jumaili emphasized the importance of safeguarding the independence of academic institutions, protecting the university environment from extremist ideologies, and promoting the values of moderation, centrism, and coexistence.

The Deputy added that the Ministry’s priorities include supporting the introduction of specialized scientific disciplines, integrating artificial intelligence technologies into education and scientific research, developing research centers, enhancing scientific publishing, and improving the standing of universities in international rankings. 

Asst. Prof. Dr. Miqdam Mohammed Obeid Al-Jumaili highlighted the need to direct research and knowledge toward productive projects that yield economic and societal benefits.

The Deputy reviewed the quality of services provided to students, assessed the conditions of the residential environment, and identified its requirements. He also inspected various construction and service projects across the university, evaluating their progress and stages of implementation.

For his part, the University President outlined key academic and institutional development programs, efforts to introduce new scientific specializations, and initiatives to strengthen quality assurance and academic accreditation. 

The President also reviewed projects implemented as part of the university’s "productive university" model, which aligns with development requirements and the needs of society. 

It is significant to mention that the meeting was attended by the University President, Prof. Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, his scientific and administrative assistants, and several members of the University Council in the presence of Mr. Mohammed Qutaiba, a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Higher Education, as well as Asst. Prof. Dr. Miqdam Mohammed Obeid Al-Jumaili was accompanied by the Director-General of the Ministry’s Department of Reconstruction and Projects, Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Amiri.
