College of Science, University of Basrah discussed a master dissertation on the properties of the porosity system and their impact on the reservoir properties of the Mushrif Formation in selected wells of the West Qurna oil field by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Fatima Karim Hindi.
The dissertation aimed at conducting capillary pressure tests using the mercury injection method to determine the type of reservoirs, as well as calculating the relative permeability of water and oil from capillary pressure tests to estimate wettability.
The dissertation confirmed the identification of four reservoirs, including very good, good, medium and poor performance.
