College of Education for Sciences, University of Basrah organized an online workshop on the reality of the Iraqi economy and ways to develop it, the Faculty Member, Mr. Murtaja Hashem Baqer Al-Tamimi said. Mr. Al-Tamimi added that the online workshop addressed the nature of the Iraqi economy after 2003, the extent of the distortions that accompanied the country's economic sectors and the possible ways to address the imbalance. Mr. Al-Tamimi continued by saying that the online workshop the imbalance of the State's productive structure, the imbalance of the general budget structure, the imbalance in the structure of foreign trade and the justifications for economic reform. Mr. Al-Tamimi said that the online workshop highlighted the extent of weakness in the Iraqi economy, which made the State’s economy and its federal budget under the weight of the fluctuations in global oil prices.
