Acting His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi, affirmed that the quality and rigor of medical education are a fundamental priority for private universities, this ensures the preparation of graduates who possess the necessary academic knowledge, professional skills, and competence to practice the profession.





Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi reviewed that the Ministry places special emphasis on medical education particularly in private universities to ensure academic and training standards that align with the significance of the field and the requirements for preparing qualified medical personnel.





His Excellency said that medical education entails
responsibilities extending beyond the classroom and academic curricula. He
noted that training a physician relies not only on scientific knowledge but
also integrates practical skills and clinical experiences, which equip the
student to shoulder professional responsibilities and enhance performance in
the field.





Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi added that the teaching
hospital provides the environment where students transition from theoretical
knowledge to practical application, here, they gain clinical experience and
learn to manage various medical cases under the supervision of professors and
specialized medical staff, thereby embodying the integration of academic study
and clinical training in producing competent medical professionals.





His Excellency emphasized that the quality of medical
education begins with the admissions process, which must be based on actual
educational and training capabilities commensurate with the college's capacity,
the teaching hospital's facilities, the teaching staff, and academic
requirements.





Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi stressed that an educational
institution's responsibility does not end with merely providing an opportunity
to study; rather, it extends to ensuring that every student receives a genuine
opportunity for education, training, and clinical practice.





His Excellency expressed his hope that the hospital’s impact
would extend to serve the community and that the university would leverage its
scientific and medical capabilities to meet local needs.






Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi also hoped the hospital would
serve as a model of integration between academic and healthcare institutions,
thereby advancing the progress of education and healthcare in Iraq.
