The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that sixty-one Iraqi Universities competed in the World University Ranking (UI Greenmetric) with its new version for the academic year 2020. The official website of the ranking (http://greenmetric.ui.ac.id/overall-rankings-2020/) reviewed increasing in the numbers of the Iraqi universities competing in this version, which recorded the entry of 61 Iraqi public and private universities in this ranking, as well as the University of Babylon topped the Iraqi universities locally and obtained the score 128th internationally. It is worth mentioning that that the UI Greenmetric ranking adopts criteria for universities ’interest in societal development issues, environmental sustainability and committing to environmentally friendly practices, as well as their keenness on raising awareness within their activities on campus and in community.
