During a ceremony of “Wetlands for Disaster Reduction” by the Ministry of Water Resources, Department of Environment and Water, merged Ministry of Science and Technology participated in the celebration of World Wetlands Day.
The symposium, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, included addressing environmental situation in the marshlands and using of magnetized and wasted water for different purposes as well as water treatment via using the MBR and TOC systems.
The symposium aimed at raising environmental awareness among the community about the importance and value of wetlands, to focus attention on wetlands biodiversity systems and their role in climate change mitigation and adaptation, and to inform the public about the importance of protecting wetlands and optimizing their use.
