Iraq, France Ink Academic Agreement

During a meeting with the French Ambassador to Baghdad, Mr. Bruno Ober, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Qusay Al-Suhail reviewed inking a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote scientific cooperation. Dr. Al-Suhail said that Iraq is keen on enhancing relations with the developed countries and their educational institutions. His Excellency added that the Ministry is working on developing the academic levels of its faculty members and providing the academic requirements. For his part, Mr. Ober expressed his country’s readiness on strengthening academic relations and he added that this agreement comes in light of the efforts to activate the first cooperation between the universities of the two countries. For his part, Director General of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Dr. Amjad Al-Sawad said that the agreement with the French side will guarantee for Iraq to exchange of expertise, joint supervision and modernization of the programs in light of the France's academic expertise.
