College of Science, University of Misan discussed a master dissertation on a molecular study of the RUNX1, RUNX3 and JAK2 genes in leukemia patients by the postgraduate student, Mr. Maitham Amer Muften.
The dissertation reviewed the level of gene expression between patients with acute myeloid and lymphocytic leukemia and healthy people, with an explanation of the causes of blood disorders.
The dissertation highlighted the extent of genetic variation between a group of leukemia patients and healthy controls through the use of real-time polymerase chain reaction techniques and polymerase chain reaction to amplify the four-primer mutation.
The dissertation demonstrated the importance of using sequential sequencing of nitrogenous bases in explaining the role of polymerase in amplifying DNA in oxygen-deprived blood.
