Technology Institute-Baghdad, Middle Technical University organized a joint symposium on the optimal use of antimicrobial systems, the Faculty Member in the College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University, Dr. Sattar Jabbar Ajeel said. Dr. Ajeel added that the joint symposium highlighted the dangers of drug-resistant and antibiotic-resistant bacteria, their auxiliary agents, show the best use of antibiotics and introduce modern generations of these antibiotics. Dr. Ajeel continued by saying that the joint symposium reviewed the origin of the emergence of antibiotics and their various types, the way they work in treating infections and diseases to which humans are exposed and new strains of bacteria resistant to these antibiotics, as well as reviewing the necessary steps to limit the increase of the pharmacological resistance to microbial and bacterial infections. Dr. Ajeel said that the joint symposium recommended the necessity of using antibiotics in a regular, non-random way, consulting a specialist doctor before taking them, supporting and encouraging researches and studies in this field to find practical solutions to the problem of resistance and cooperating with specialists in the Ministry of Health to continue awareness campaigns targeting various levels of the community.
