The College of Science, Mustansiriyah University discussed a master dissertation on the generation of cryptographic keys using TSP and swarm intelligence techniques to enhance the security of modern cryptographic systems by the postgraduate student, Ms. Zahraa Sadiq Jassim.

The dissertation aimed at developing an advanced framework for generating high-entropy cryptographic keys based on the structural complexity of the TSP problem, as well as employing swarm intelligence algorithms, particularly the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm and the Gray Wolf Oxygenation (GWO) algorithm, to produce keys with a high degree of randomness and resistance to prediction, thus meeting the requirements of contemporary cryptographic systems.

The dissertation included the design and implementation of an integrated key generation system based on TSP paths and the conversion of optimal solutions into cryptographic keys using the SHA-256 hash function to produce 256-bit keys compliant with the AES standard.

The dissertation included a comparison of the performance of the two algorithms in finding the optimal path, as well as reviewing that both the ACO and GWO algorithms were able to generate strong keys with a balanced distribution of zeros and ones, and high entropy values, while passing all approved statistical tests.

The dissertation reviewed the superiority of the ACO algorithm in terms of stability, while the GWO algorithm showed higher flexibility in exploration and optimization of solutions.
