Engineering Technical College – Mosul, Northern Technical University discussed a master dissertation on the effect of the combined sulfate-chloride attack on the properties of cement mortar containing waste cement materials by the postgraduate student, Mr. Ahmed Muhammad Ali Muhammad.

The dissertation aimed at producing a mortar with properties that are resistant to chemical attack and good mechanical properties by adding nanomaterials and pozzolans and evaluating the mixtures after exposure to cycles of drying and wetting with a solution containing chlorides and sulphates, choosing the best mixture and using it as a curing mortar.

The dissertation recommended the need to use different types of Nano-materials with fly ash to produce a self-compacting mortar used in grouting and repairing buildings.
