College of Science, University of Misan discussed a master dissertation on preparing of Nano-composites of molybdenum/titanium oxides and alumina via hydrothermal synthesis method by the postgraduate student, Mr. Menna Radhi Hamad.
The dissertation aimed at preparing the two Nano-composites TiO2 and MoO3 via using the hydrothermal method.
The dissertation reviewed that the diagnosis of the prepared compounds and Nano-composites was carried out using several techniques, namely X-ray diffraction (XRD x-ray diffraction) to study the crystalline and structural properties of the samples and a scanning electron microscope (SME) to study the morphology of the material in order to know the weight ratios of the elements in the overlays and their purity.
The dissertation stressed on the need to employ the resulting compounds in the industrial aspect to remove sulfur from crude oil, as well as the importance of the hydrothermal synthesis method, which has proven to be an effective method in preparing Nano-composites with Nano-dimensional dimensions and distinctive properties being an environmentally friendly method.
