His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr.  Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi said that “ On this blessed day that coincide with  the anniversary of University of Basrah in 1964 and the University of Mosul in 1967 and on this occasion, we evoke full academic history of giving and performance for these two ancient institutions, as well as we recall scientists, researchers, professors and specialists who made their mark and established a distinguished efforts in classrooms, laboratories, scientific research and international forums.

Dr. Al-Aboudi added that “ We appreciate these two universities for their keenness on providing educational services and their effective response to scientific requirements that are consistent with the goals of sustainable development, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is confident that all its university institutions are continuing to improve the fields of development, achieve the highest quality indicators, update their systems and academic programs and reach their goals that interact with the global knowledge environment and its variables and the needs of the national labor market in the public and private sectors.
