of Wasit discussed a Ph.D. thesis on indicators of urban development for
infrastructure services in the city of Kut by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Mona Abdul-Ghani
Majeed.
The thesis aimed at analyzing the spatial
distribution of infrastructure services represented by water, electricity,
sanitation, communications, roads and bridges and identifying the reality of the state of these services and their efficiency and
adequacy in a manner commensurate with the population.
The thesis recommended the necessity of establishing service projects in
proportion to the city's population and its sectoral distribution, and drawing
a future map for those services within a realistic action plan.
