Higher Education Announces on Six Iraqi Universities, Topped by Baghdad Obtain Top Global Score in QS World University Rankings by Subject

 Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that the QS World University Rankings by Subject has released its 2025 edition, in which 1,730 institutions from around the world were competed.

 

Higher Education highlighted that the new edition is based on an evaluation of 55 specialties across five fields of study: Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences and Medicine, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences and Management, as well as considering indicators of academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations, the Hirsch Index and the international research network.

 

Higher Education demonstrated that the rankings reviewed six Iraqi universities in advanced competitive scores according to the following academic programs:

 

▪️ Petroleum Engineering:

* University of Baghdad (51-100)

* University of Basra/University of Technology (101-150)

* Northern Technical University/University of Mosul (151-175)

 

▪️Chemical Engineering:

- University of Baghdad (401-450)

 

▪️ Electrical and Electronic Engineering:

- University of Baghdad (451-500)

 

▪️ Mechanical Engineering:

- University of Baghdad (351-400)

 

▪️ Engineering and Technology:

- University of Baghdad (302)

 

▪️ Computer Science and Information Systems:

- University of Baghdad (451-500)

- University of Basra/University of Kufa (751-800)

 

▪️ Languages:

- University of Baghdad (251-300)

 

▪️ Agriculture and Forestry:

- University of Baghdad (351-400)

 

▪️ Medicine:

- University of Baghdad (551-600)

 

▪️ Chemistry:

- University of Baghdad (601-700)
