Technical College- Musayyib, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University discussed a Ph.D. thesis on the effect of nano-silicon on the growth, yield, and anatomical characteristics of three soybean varieties under varying irrigation durations by the postgraduate student, Mr. Abbas Ghanem Hamza.
The thesis aimed at reducing water stress using nano-silicon and achieving optimal tolerance in the varieties under the conditions of Babylon Governorate.
The thesis that the 'Shaymaa' variety significantly outperformed the 'Shaymaa' variety in yield, its components, and qualitative and anatomical characteristics, which positively impacted growth characteristics and increased yield.
The thesis demonstrated that increasing the nitrogen content in the leaves and seeds contributed to enhancing the plant's vegetative growth, furthermore, the addition of nano-silicon had a positive effect on most of the studied traits, with a concentration of 4 ml/L yielding the best results in growth, yield, and quality. Shortening the irrigation period to six days also led to a significant improvement in the majority of the studied traits.
The thesis recommended cultivating the variety (Shaimaa) due to its superior yield, fruit composition, and qualitative and anatomical characteristics under the study conditions, as well as using nano-silicon at a concentration of 4 ml/L and irrigating for six days, given its positive impact on improving growth, yield, and quality traits.
