Al-Qadisiyah University’s Master’s Dissertation: On Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Beams Via Using Sections of Sifcon Concrete

College of Engineering, University of Al-Qadisiyah discussed a master dissertation on strengthening of reinforced concrete beams using sections of Sifcon concrete by the postgraduate student, Mr. Mustafa Faisal Abbas.

 

The dissertation aimed at preparing a practical program to study the mechanical and structural behavior of reinforced concrete beams using Sifcon sections.


The dissertation reviewed that the use of Sifcon reinforcement for beams leads to a noticeable increase in the ultimate load of the structure, as well as an increase in the rigidity of the structures.


The dissertation concluded that reinforced beams under flexural failure provide energy absorption, increase ductility and increase the maximum load of the beam, which results in a high area in the load-slump curve due to high rigidity.
