Al-Nahrain University’s Ph.D. Thesis: On Evaluation Cytogenetic & Hormonal Aspects of Interleukin Genetic Polymorphism

College of Biotechnology, University of Al-Nahrain discussed a Ph.D. thesis on evaluating cellular genetic and hormonal aspects of the genetic polymorphism of the interleukin-23 Gene by postgraduate student, Mrs. Saja Ali Sharif.

The thesis aimed at studying a sample of patients with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, which is characterized by the presence of antibodies specific to the thyroid gland, although the exact causes have not been fully clarified, it is considered one of the most common autoimmune disorders.

The thesis demonstrated the relation between genetic polymorphisms and susceptibility to Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) in patients, while evaluating some immunological and cytogenetic parameters associated with the disease.
