The College of Biotechnology at Al-Qasim Green University discussed a master's thesis on effect of bromelain loading onto silver nanoparticles on certain physiological and genetic indicators in patients with cardiovascular diseases by the postgraduate student, Ms. Iman Reda Omran.
The thesis aimed at studying the effect of bromelain loaded onto silver Nanoparticles on certain physiological and genetic indicators associated with cardiovascular diseases, this was achieved by assessing blood lipid levels and examining several genetic and inflammatory factors related to disease progression.
The thesis reviewed a significant increase in the gene expression of the PCSK9 gene in heart patients compared to healthy individuals, confirming its role in lipid disorders and atherosclerosis.
The thesis demonstrated the success of loading bromelain onto silver nanoparticles and forming a stable compound with promising properties that could be utilized in future therapeutic applications, furthermore, advancing age and smoking are among the most prominent risk factors associated with cardiovascular diseases.
