College of Agriculture, University of Basrah discussed a master dissertation on the effect of treatment with Fluraton and the male variety to improve the partial compatibility and anatomical and physiological characteristics of the flowers and fruits of the Barhi date palm by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Surur Jassim Farid.

The dissertation aimed at identifying the problem of partial incompatibility in date palms of the Barhi variety.

The dissertation concluded that the use of Fluraton led to an improvement in the biological characteristics of pollen grains, especially pollen of the male seed variety, and a decrease in the percentage of cochineal nodes.

The dissertation recommended using Fluraton at a concentration of 6.0 g/l with seed varieties and strains, thus reducing reliance on the green sheep variety.
