College of Medicine, University of Kufa discussed a master dissertation on the effect of antifungal drugs on the susceptibility of ringworm culture by the postgraduate student, Mr. Sarmad Bashir Jaafar.
The dissertation aimed at shedding light on the effect of antifungal drugs on the sensitivity of ringworm culture.
The dissertation concluded that systemic antifungal medications could affect the sensitivity of ringworm culture, so they must be stopped for at least a month before taking samples, while topical antifungal medications and topical steroids do not have a significant effect on the culture results and there is no need to stop them before taking samples.
