College of Education, University of Samarra discussed a Ph.D. Thesis on preparing and diagnosing of some heterocyclic compounds with biochemical activity from some natural product compounds by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Zainab Hashim Muhammad.
The thesis reviewed preparing of some heterocyclic types of some compounds of natural products, especially those known for their biological activity, such as benzimidazole compounds, benzathiazoles, azomethine compounds, oxazolidines, imidazolines, thiazines, thiazolidines and pyrazoles.
The thesis demonstrated preparing of two types of heterogeneous rings (pentagonal - hexagonal) and their composition was confirmed by determining their melting points and FT-IR spectroscopic measurements, (1H-NMR) and (Mass-spectra), as well as reviewing high reducing power of compounds derived from calic acid.
