The College of Education for Pure Sciences at Samarra University discussed a Ph.D. thesis on the simultaneous and individual determination of naproxen and diclofenac sodium in their pure forms and pharmaceutical preparations using spectroscopic and chromatographic methods by the postgraduate student, Ms. Nada Ghaleb Hussein.

The thesis reviewed developing multiple analytical methods that differ in their techniques and are characterized by accuracy, sensitivity, and analytical efficiency for determining these drugs in their pure forms and pharmaceutical preparations.

The thesis highlighted that the study achieved through the simultaneous quantitative determination of naproxen and diclofenac sodium using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and the determination of naproxen using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).

The thesis demonstrated the feasibility of successfully applying the proposed method for the estimation of both NAP and DIC, given its high accuracy and consistency, as well as its simplicity, speed, and selectivity.

The thesis confirmed the obtaining of percentage recovery values, relative standard deviation, and the limits of detection and quantification, indicating the method's accuracy, consistency, and good sensitivity and the success of the proposed method for DIC estimation, as well as its simplicity and low cost.
