Department of Materials Engineering, University of Technology discussed a Ph.D. thesis Nano-composite coatings prepared using electroless plating by the postgraduate student, Mr.s Russell Khaled Abd Hazzaa.
The thesis aimed at preparing several Nano-coatings on low-carbon steel, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene and an alumina substrate with two different types of nanograins, TiC and SiC, were used FESEM, EDX, and polarization.
The thesis highlighted that different coating properties can be obtained via using different deposition conditions.
The thesis reviewed two multi-criteria decision-making methods, the weighted sum model, analytical hierarchy process to distinguish and select the best coating for each substrate.
