During a participation in the international meeting on the establishment of secondary calibration laboratories and their implementations in the field of treatment and medical diagnosis of cancer patients, Austria, a number of employees of the Directorate of Central Labs, merged Ministry of Science and Technology reviewed the need for secondary calibration laboratories for the purpose of medical diagnosis and treatment for cancer patients, radiation control and protection via mobile devices and TLD cards. The meeting highlighted the necessity of supporting Iraq by providing specialized staffs with training courses and scientific visits before proceeding to build such laboratories, which aim at ensuring the correct calibration of the devices of detecting radiation doses in the medical, industrial and environmental sectors.
