College of Applied Sciences, University of Samarra discussed master dissertation on evaluating of some biochemical, physiological and molecular parameters in patients with kidney failure in Salah Al-Din Governorate. by the postgraduate student, Ms. Ansam Hassan Alwan

The dissertation aimed at evaluating the effect of antioxidants and oxidants (SOD) and (MDA) using the ELISA test and study the polymorphisms of the SOD1 and SOD2 genes, as well as studying the genes affecting the metabolic pathways of these compounds and search for the variable forms of gene sequences associated with kidney failure.

The dissertation reviewed higher levels of antioxidants in the group of patients compared to the healthy group and the detection of mutant alleles and normal alleles in the group of patients and the healthy group, as well as discovering genetic mutations in the group of patients and the healthy group for the SOD1 and SOD2 genes.
