During a ceremony of honoring the distinguished researchers and the winners of the Al-Ain Prize for the Iraqi academic scientific researcher, which was held by Al Ain University in its 3rd edition, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi called on to intensify the fields of applied research that serve the labor market and the institutions of the public and private sectors.

Dr. Al-Aboudi reviewed the importance of developing research and scientific outputs and their quality in universities, increasing their impact globally and providing appropriate financial support for the research environment.

His Excellency directed to honor the distinguished researchers in the field of discreet global publishing and award them the Medal of Scientific Excellence.

Dr. Al-Aboudi highlighted that the responsibilities of all Higher Education’s institutions will be doubled in the coming years.

His Excellency said that the pattern of university education is no longer limited to traditional methods and systems, which requires enabling universities to keep pace with the changes that require a deliberate shift in the level of interaction and methods of teaching and learning.

For his part, the Ministry’s Deputy for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Haider Abd Dhahad demonstrated the Ministry's direction and policy in the field of supporting scientific research and global publishing.

For his part, President of Al-Ain University reviewed the indicators of Iraqi scientific research and the mechanisms for selecting the winners and distinguished in the Al Ain Award for Academic Researcher.

For his part, President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate called on supporting the scientific research environment and enhancing the levels of excellence among researchers.

It is worth mentioning that the ceremony was attended by University’s presidents, academics syndicate, a group of researchers, a number of faculty members and a number of officials from Thi-Qar Governorate.
