Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on that one thousand five hundred universities in the world obtained competitive scores in the QS World Ranking in its version of the year 2023. Higher Education highlighted that the official website of the ranking (https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/2023) reviewed the University of Baghdad obtained the score (801-1000), Al-Mustansiriyah University obtained the score (1001-1200), the University of Kufa obtained the score (1001-1200), the University of Babylon obtained the score (1201 +) and the University of Basrah obtained the score (1201 +). Higher Education added that the QS ranking in ranking university institutions is based on the criteria of academic reputation by (40%), employers by (10%), student-to-teacher ratio by (20%), citations by (20%), international faculty by (5%) and international students by (5%). It is worth mentioning that the Iraqi universities and colleges obtained competition in international rankings, such as the (The Times) ranking was obtained by four universities, the (QS) ranking was obtained by five universities, the (Scimago) ranking was obtained by twenty-two institutions, the (Greenmetric) ranking was obtained by sixty-six Iraqi universities and colleges, URAP ranking was obtained by four Iraqi universities and Webometrics ranking was obtained by eighty-nine Iraqi universities and colleges.
