Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on obtaining top ranking of one hundred and sixty-nine universities from fifteen countries in The Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2022 . Higher Education reviewed that Iraqi universities obtained important competitive scores in The Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2022 (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2022-0#!/page/0/length/25/locations/IRQ/sort_by/rank /sort_order/asc/cols/undefined) that highlighted the Universities of Baghdad obtained the score (46), Mosul obtained the score (51-60), Technology obtained the score (51-60), Babylon obtained the score (61-70), Basrah obtained the score (61-70), Al-Nahrain obtained the score (71-80), Mustansiriyah obtained the score (71-80), Kufa obtained the score (81-90), Anbar obtained the score (91-100), Al-Qadisiyah obtained the score (101-120), Tikrit obtained the score (101-120), Qasim Green obtained the score (121-140), Diyala obtained the score (121-140), Karbala obtained the score (121-140), Northern Technical obtained the score (121-140), Wasit obtained the score (121-140), Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical obtained the score (141+), Muthanna obtained the score (141+), Kirkuk obtained the score (141+), Middle Technical obtained the score (141+) and Thi-Qar obtained the score (141+). Higher Education added that the Ranking methodology based on international university ranking indicators, while some new indicators were included that reviewed the advantages and tasks of universities in the Middle East and North Africa. Higher Education reviewed that the competing universities were evaluated according to five main axes: teaching by (33%), scientific research by (33%), citations by (20%), society by (6%) and international attitude by (8%). It is worth mentioning that Iraqi universities and colleges scored increasing competition in international rankings, including the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, in which the University of Baghdad was scored within the chemical engineering major, (The Times) ranking, in which eight universities were scored, (QS) ranking in which five universities were scored, (Scimago) ranking, in which twenty-two institutions were scored, (Greenmetric) ranking, in which sixty-six Iraqi universities and colleges were scored, URAP ranking, in which four Iraqi universities were scored, as well as the (Webometrics) ranking, which eighty-nine Iraqi universities and colleges were scored.
