Technology University’s Master Dissertation on Designing Improved Smart Energy Management System for IoT Networks

The College of Computer Engineering, University of Technology discussed a master dissertation on designing and implementing of an improved smart energy management system for green Internet of Things (IoT) networks by the postgraduate student, Ms. Sara Abdul Karim Abbas. 


 


The dissertation aimed at developing energy-efficient architecture for green IoT networks by integrating the LEACH protocol with fog computing and an adaptive sleep scheduling mechanism based on Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology.  


 


The dissertation demonstrated studying existing energy-efficient protocols and designing an intelligent sleep and activity scheduling system, while minimizing latency using fog computing. 


 


The dissertation reviewed a significant improvement in energy efficiency, network lifespan, latency, data transfer rate and packet delivery rate, confirming the efficiency of the proposed system and its scalability in large-scale green IoT environments.
