College of Science, University of Al-Mustansiriyah organized a workshop on synthesizing of safe Nano-particles to be used as pesticides. The workshop, in which a number of faculty members and postgraduates participated, highlighted the steps and mechanisms of Nano-particles that are inexpensive and easy to be prepared by relying on plant and fungal extracts, demonstrating the scientific benefits of these Nano-particles and the possibility of using them as insecticides to kill insects and mosquitoes in order to reduce pollution. The workshop reviewed the scientific methods used in preparing of different types Nano-insecticides and clarifying how to measure the degrees of impact of these pesticides in the different phases of insects and mosquitoes, as well as reviewing a number of research studies that confirmed the great impact of Nano-pesticides in the elimination of flies quickly and safely.
