College of Agriculture, University of Basra organized a symposium on the effect of the level of adding nitrogen and urea fertilizers in the growth of tomato plant.
The symposium, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, included delivering a lecture on the effect of the level of adding nitrogen and urea fertilizers in the growth of tomato plant in the form and movement of inorganic nitrogen in the soil and its impact on the growth of the plants in the desert areas.
The symposium reviewed that the modern agriculture is based on the intensive use of advanced agricultural techniques in order to increase agricultural production and improve its quality as well as using of chemical fertilizers of the most agricultural materials to improve the productivity of soils.
The symposium recommended keeping pace with the latest technologies in using chemical fertilizers to meet the nutritional requirements of plants and reduce risk of environmental pollution.
It is worth mentioning that the Nano-fertilizers, so-called smart fertilizers can be used instead of chemical fertilizers to enhance the efficiency of fertilizer and reduce the environmental pollution caused by the frequent use of fertilizers and the agricultural land itself.
