His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi inaugurated the infrastructure projects at Thi-Qar University and laid the foundation stone for the e-government and intranet project.

Dr. Al-Aboudi confirmed that the Ministry is working according to ambitious programs to implement academic projects and develop university institutions, as well as completing its facilities in order to interact and respond to the appropriate requirements of the Higher Education environment in proportion to its role and the tasks of workers in its colleges, departments and branches in embodying the philosophy of community service.

His Excellency toured the new projects, which included buildings, halls and GYM for College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, building of the College of Agriculture and Marshes, Computer Center and administrative and service suites.

Dr. Al-Aboudi directed on completing all university’s projects, modernization of its buildings, specialized laboratories and libraries, as well as paying attention to green spaces and their sustainability, making them a scientific and academic environment characterized by development.

His Excellency reconfirmed on the importance of universities' contribution and active participation in building and serving community, addressing its problems, and linking scientific research to the needs of the production and service sectors.

It is worth mentioning that the inauguration was attended by Thi-Qar University’s president, Dr. Yahya Abd Al-Ridha Al-Khafaji, the Ministry’s Deputy for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Haider Abd Dhahd, a number of local government officials in Thi-Qar Governorate and its police chief.
