Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the (QS Arab Region University Rankings 2023) in its edition of the universities in the Arab region for the 2023. Higher Education reviewed that one hundred and ninety-nine universities competed to reserve their scores in this ranking (https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/arab-region-university-rankings/2023) according to indicators of academic reputation by (30%), reputation of the employer by (20 %), faculty members/students ratio by (15%), international search network by (10%), web impact by (5%), share of staff with Ph.D. by (5%), citations per published paper by (5%) and published paper per college by (5%), the proportion of international faculty members by (2.5%) and the proportion of international students by (2.5%). Higher Education highlighted that the Iraqi universities achieved an increasing competitive in this edition, as twenty-eight university institutions obtained competitive indicators, represented by the University of Baghdad in which obtained the score fortieth, followed by the Universities of Al-Mustansiriyah, Al-Nahrain, Kufa, Technology and Basrah, as well as Universities of Fallujah, Kirkuk and Thi-Qar. It is worth mentioning that Iraqi universities and colleges achieved their escalating competition in international rankings, including the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, in which the University of Baghdad obtained top score in the specialization of chemical engineering, the (The Times) ranking, in which eight universities obtained the ranking, the (QS) ranking in which five universities obtained the ranking, (Scimago) ranking in which twenty-two institutions obtained the ranking,(Greenmetric) ranking in which sixty-six Iraqi universities and colleges obtained the ranking, URAP ranking in which four Iraqi universities obtained the ranking, as well as Webometrics ranking in which eighty-nine Iraqi universities and colleges obtained the ranking.
