Research and Development Directorate, Higher Education organized a workshop on the renewable energies and their future implementations in Iraq, Assistant of the Directorate, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Marsomi said.
Dr. Al-Marsomi added that the workshop included reviewing the importance of the solar energy implementations, applications of solar cells techniques, role of renewable energies in water desalination and producing biofuels from date fruits besides using of wind in power generation.
Dr. Al-Marsomi reviewed the importance of the renewable energies as an eco-friendly, always available in nature, easy to be exploited by simple methods and mechanisms and renewable energies will provide new job opportunities.
It is worth mentioning that the workshop recommended funding and supporting the projects of renewable energies, establishing centers for solar energy researches as well as forming a committee to benefit from the neighboring countries' experiences in electrical power production.
