A faculty member in the College of Biotechnologies, University of Al-Nahrain published a research in the International European Journal of BIOMEDICAL for Science on anti-microbial effectiveness of the extracts of banana peel and lemon juice.
The research aimed at using plant extracts to control the microbial infections as a safe alternative to antibiotics as well as their benefits as antioxidants.
The research reviewed that fruit peels have an effective role in fighting against local infections caused by the mentioned type of bacteria which resistant to a number of antibiotics such as penicillin and amoxicillin.
