College of Science, University of Kirkuk discussed a master dissertation on the biochemical evaluation of human blood serum albumin glycation in patients with rheumatoid arthritis by the postgraduate student, Ms. Zainab Esmat Ismail.

The dissertation aimed at studying the concentration of some biochemical variables in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, determining the correlation coefficient between the studied variables, purifying albumin protein from patients and healthy people, diagnosing it using infrared radiation and studying the inhibitory effect of vitamin C or E on the glycation level in albumin the purifier.

The dissertation concluded that there was an inhibitory effect on the level of glycation in albumin purified from patients when different concentrations of vitamins (C and E) were used and there was a significant decrease in the levels of total protein, albumin and thiols and a significant increase in the levels of carbonyls and free amino acids in patients with rheumatoid arthritis compared with the control group.
