University of Kufa organized a symposium on the seismic activity in Iraq and its impact on buildings.
The symposium, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, aimed at studying seismic activity in Iraq, applications of spatial information systems of the earthquakes’ impact on the geotechnical engineering, impact of earthquakes on buildings and laboratory simulation of structural dynamic behavior as well as earthquake-resistant construction systems.
The symposium recommended increasing the community awareness on the risks of the earthquakes and the need for the experiences of the civil engineer.
