College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Thi-Qar organized a symposium on the technology of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and methods of DNA test with electronic evaluation, the Faculty Member in the College, Dr. Ashwaq Jabbar said. Dr. Jabbar added that the symposium demonstrated the nucleic acids which consider as molecules that are responsible for storing and reading the genetic information in various living organisms, as the DNA is present in the cell’s nucleus, its shape can be described as a double spiral staircase, consists of two bands and it forms the chromosomes transmitter for the moral and physical characteristics of living things. Dr. Jabbar highlighted that the symposium also reviewed the PCR technique, which is used for the purpose of enlarging a specific piece of DNA to hundreds or thousands of pieces, materials and reagents used in this process, as well as the levels through which the extension process passes.
