College of Engineering, University of Thi-Qar discussed a master dissertation on the effect of adding Nano-Particles on the mechanical properties of the externally excited metal deposition process by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Yousry Abbas Baggy.
The dissertation aimed at identifying the effect of cold wire feeding and titanium Nano-Particles on response variables and mechanical and microscopic properties.
The dissertation demonstrated a study of metal deposition using a heat source for metal tungsten arc welding, in addition to feeding cold wires and Nano-Titanium Particles, which is an innovative new additive technology that can be used to manufacture and improve the mechanical properties of deposited parts by melting a cold wire in the form of a layer on a layer.
The dissertation highlighted an improvement in the mechanical properties of (Tensile strength, Impact Hardness), where the highest MD value improved by 57.8% of the Hardness values, while the highest MD value improved by 18.6% of the Tensile strength values and the highest MD value improved by 42.3% of the Hardness values impact.
