7th Duhok International Film Festival Hosts Babylon University

During a participation in the7th Duhok International Film Festival, Kurdistan of Iraq, the head of the Department of Dramatic Arts in the College of Fine Arts, University of Babylon, Dr. Amer Sabah Al-Marzouk highlighted scientific research on cinema in Iraq and the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Dr. Al-Marzouk said that the festival, in which 112 international films participated, reviewed the mechanism of developing curricula with the scientific progress of the world recognized universities in teaching the art of cinema theoretically and scientifically, promoting specialized university faculty members of cinema towards the practical side and come up with cinematic academic productions to keep pace with the existing artistic productions. Dr. Al-Marzouk added that the participation also reviewed three main axes, the first one on curriculum, the second one on university faculty member and the third one on film student. Dr. Al-Marzouk continued by saying that the participation recommended supporting university’s cinema and holding festivals and competitions on university cinema to keep pace with the provided professional film productions. It is worth mentioning that Duhok International Film Festival is one of the top Iraqi and international festivals that put its mark in the international cinema competition since its inception in 2011 as well as the festival witnessed holding continuous symposiums and workshops.
