The National Center for Diabetes, University of Al-Mustansiriyah delivered an online lecture on osteoporosis, the Faculty Member in the College of Medicine, University of Melbourne, Dr. Ghassan Al-Hamy said. Dr. Al-Hamy added that the online lecture reviewed the factors that lead to bone weakness in humans, which in most viral cases due to a decrease in the level of calcium, phosphorus or other minerals in the bones. Dr. Al-Hamy added that the online lecture demonstrated how osteoporosis occurs in men over 75 years and the reasons for the increased frequency of diminishing bone tissue in women as a result of the sharp drop in the level of estrogen in the blood, which is the main cause of bone tissue loss.
