College of Medicine, University of Al-Mustansiriyah held a symposium on carcinogenic viruses and viruses that help in viral oncogenesis by Dr. Ayser Hamid Latif. The symposium reviewed the types of viruses of the DNA and RNA family, which have a role in the formation of certain tumors such as leukemia, liver cancer and cervical cancer. The symposium demonstrated methods of transmission of infection, modern diagnostic methods for communicable diseases, the most important techniques of isolation and cultivation and how to use them in treatment.
