A joint research team in the College of Biotechnology, University of Al-Nahrain obtained a patent on designing electronic venipuncture device, Dean of the College, Dr. Kadhum Mohammed Ibraheem said. Dr. Ibraheem added that the patent, in which granted by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control Unit of the Ministry of Planning, aimed at promoting the technological and scientific level and keeping pace with the lest developments in the advanced countries. Dr. Ibraheem reviewed that the device provides accuracy and easiness and detect the appropriate veins for venipuncture via using infrared. The patent highlighted the method of programming the device on Ardunic system, detect vein via infrared, and inject the needle after detecting the optimal vein.
